This acoustic fabric is suitable for covering speakers, soundboards, doorboards, sound absorbers, speaker covering frames, and much more.
The water-repellent covering fabric offered here is hard-wearing and can also be pulled around "hard" corners without immediately getting a run.
Very high sound permeability is guaranteed thanks to the open knitting technique used for this fabric. Unwanted sound losses in the mid and high frequencies are avoided or minimised.
The unusual width of 160cm makes it possible to cover larger speaker surfaces, such as in theatres or cinemas, with this covering fabric.
The fabric of our acoustic fabric is "open-pored". This means that the colours of the fabrics are influenced differently by the background and the angle of incidence of the light.
This fabric is supplied by the metre or in rolls. This means that if 10 pieces are ordered, we will deliver 10 metres of acoustic fabric in a width of 160 cm.
The maximum roll length is about 40 metres.

Which side of the speaker cloth is the front?
In principle, both sides of the speaker cloth from Akustikstoff.com can be used as the visible side. The speaker cloth is evenly dyed and has the same structure on both sides. The only exception is printed speaker cloth, where the front side is clearly visible anyway.
From an acoustic point of view, it makes no difference which side faces outwards. However, we recommend using the more textured side as the front. It appears more uniform, diffuses light slightly better and provides a particularly even visual appearance, especially under direct lighting.

Our spraker cloth 2.0 is water-repellent but cannot be fully waterproof due to its acoustic properties. This means the fabric is treated so that water droplets reliably bead off without immediately penetrating the material. Splash water, rain, or accidentally sprayed drops are safely kept away. This water-repellent feature provides everyday protection without compromising its excellent acoustic performance.
It is important to note, however, that the fabric does not protect against high humidity or heavy water exposure, such as standing water or a direct jet from a hose. In terms of protection, it is roughly equivalent to IP X4. For applications requiring full waterproofing, we recommend explicitly waterproof materials rated IP X7 or X8, though these would significantly reduce acoustic transparency.
